I give you a warm welcome to the website of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the United Mexican States. At the same time, you will also find useful information regarding the bilateral relation and friendship ties that exist between Azerbaijan and Mexico, as well as with other nations of Latin America.

Diplomatic relations between Mexico and Azerbaijan were established in 1992. Since January of 2008, this Embassy opened its doors with the purpose of consolidating the enduring friendship and cooperation relations currently existing between Azerbaijan and this region of the world. Our main task has been to work together with the Mexican authorities in strategic issues for both countries. As well, we have had a strong commitment to pursue new ways of interaction with all countries of the Latin American region.

As reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, over the night of April 2, Armenian side by using heavy weapons fired the positions of the armed forces of Azerbaijan and conducted sabotage and attacks along the line of contact. Armenian armed forces also shelled densely populated areas in the vicinity of the contact line. As a result of irresponsible deliberate actions of Armenia there is information about killed and injured civilians. Serious damage was also inflicted upon the private properties.

Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Print E-mail

On April 2, 2016 Armenia targeting civilians densely residing in the territories adjacent to the frontline area opened intensive heavy weapons fire at the positions of Azerbaijan’s armed forces along the line of contact. As a result of artillery attacks of Armenian armed forces a number of civilians were killed and seriously wounded. Substantial damages were also inflicted upon the private and public properties.

In the recent days by flagrantly violating the ceasefire regime and the requirements of international law, the Armenian armed forces have set to fire with large-caliber weapons, mortars, grenade launchers and artillery towards the frontline position of Azerbaijan as well as the non-residential areas and civilian facilities away from the contact line.

Press release on activities of foreign media in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan Print E-mail

The official Yerevan has been attempting to organize visits of foreign media to the occupied territories of Azerbaijan in order to deceive the international community and divert the focus from the political-legal liability they carry for the subversive and provocative actions of the Armenian armed forces since April 2 in the frontline, using heavy artillery and other heavy weaponry in the shelling of the Azerbaijani population across the line of contact and causing deaths and injuries among the civilians.
